Brass Anchor Pub - The Hidden Treasure on the MSC Meraviglia

Brass Anchor Pub - The Hidden Treasure on the MSC Meraviglia

The MSC Meraviglia has 20 different bars on board, so it is understandable if there isn’t enough time to visit each and every one of them.  However, this is one bar… er pub… that cannot be missed and that’s the Brass Anchor Pub.

The Brass Anchor Pub is the cruise line’s take on a classic British Pub on the MSC Meraviglia.  The same pub exists under the name “The Masters of the Sea” in other Meraviglia class ships - Bellissima, Grandiosa, Virtuosa and Euriba.  It’s a spacey pub with a large bar and plenty of seating for a large crowd.  The pub also includes a variety of seating options: bar stools sit along the bartop and dividing areas of the room, traditional restaurant tables and larger booths for bigger groups.  In addition, there are tables outside of the bar overlooking the promenade area - while the outdoor area is separated by a wall from the indoor bar, there are waiters that serve the outdoor areas as well.

THE Place for Draft Beer Fans

The Brass Anchor is the only place on the Meraviglia class ships to get a selection of draft beer beyond Heineken, which is served at most bars on the ship.  On top of the drinks on tap, they also serve a large selection of bottled beer as well as Micheladas and other beer-based cocktails.  And if beer isn’t your think, a full bar is available with a large selection of whiskeys and gins for any mixed drink options.

What Draft Beers Are Available in the Brass Anchor?

While this list is bound to change, on our cruise in the summer of 2024, the following beers were available on draft:

  • Affligem
  • Blue Moon
  • Dos Equis Especial
  • Heineken
  • Lagunitas Daytime
  • Lagunitas IPA
  • Miller Lite
  • Newcastle Brown Ale
  • Sam Adams
  • Stella Artois
  • Strongbow Gold

And Food!

In addition to the libations, the Brass Anchor Pub also serves a limited food menu.  You can get a couple different burgers and even chicken wings from the pub.  The food does cost extra, but the costs are reasonable with all menu items being less than $10.  We had the wings and had no complaints

The Entertainment

The Brass Anchor is also home to nightly entertainment.  Each night of our cruise, the Brass Anchor hosted live music, trivia, name that tune or some other form of entertainment.  Generally, there were different entertainment options each hour.  In addition to the live entertainment, the Brass Anchor has multiple TVs that show live sporting events from around the world.  They are limited to what is available on the cruise ship’s channel selection, but we found that every night, there were multiple games from a variety of sports - baseball, basketball, soccer and even cricket.  If you are looking to watch the big game in a loud environment, this is the place to be.
